Unlike conventional safety glass that shatters after impact, StudentShield is engineered to stay in place and continue resisting forced entry, even after sustaining the ballistic weakening sequence defined in ASTM F3561.

Why StudentShield?

HOW STUDENTSHIELD WORKS

Traditional tempered glass offers little resistance once broken.

StudentShield combines glass, proprietary interlayers and core substrate into a multi-layer glazing system approximately 0.50 inches thick, allowing the glazing to remain in place after severe damage while continuing to resist forced entry attempts.

During ASTM F3561 testing, the glazing first underwent the prescribed firearm-induced weakening procedure. The pre-weakening phase of the ASTM F3561 test uses an AR-15 rifle to fire 10 rounds into circular pattern before being subjected to progressively higher forced-entry impacts. StudentShield successfully resisted every impact level through Level 8, demonstrating continued integrity after the simulated attack.
